Care
in Captivity: Must
be housed in a container high enough for insect to hang and shed it’s
skin. Enclosure must be well ventilated. A one inch layer of peat soil mixed
with vermiculite can help to maintain humidity. Room temperature is ideal
(18-26oC) – be aware of night temperature drops.
Spray every 2-3 days but do not allow enclosure to become too wet. Clean
enclosures regularly and wash with hot water as required. Ideally,
replace substrate monthly.
Fact:
Stick
insects can lay eggs, which hatch into baby stick insects, without mating.
