Animals are a great way of engaging young people - particularly those with behavioural and/or learning difficulties and sometimes exceptionally gifted pupils. Our sessions are stimulating and exciting learning experiences for all.

Our inclusive SEN and ASN workshops use active learning, visuals, sounds and tangible items to enhance workshops for those who struggle to process and respond to information.

This hands-on, practical learning experience helps foster a natural sense of curiosity and inspires eager learners to make sense of the world around them. And all our workshops count towards those all-important curriculum outcomes!

Take a look at all the workshops. We can create something bespoke just for you and together we’ll find the perfect session for your class.
All About Our World
Jane's Egg
This lifecycle storybook egg-stravaganza follows Jane on a chocolate egg hunt. Along the way, she spies a series of eggs - could they be her chocolate egg prize? Perhaps they belong to some of ZooLab’s amazing animal team?
Eco-Investigators
Linking to environmental concerns, we explore how informed personal choices can protect animals, habitats and people over the world. This workshop teaches us about recycling, using examples from the animal and insect world.
Rainforest Adventurer
Go on an action-packed adventure through the rainforest layers and meet animals along the way. It’s all part of an approach that combines storytelling and drama to bring the rainforest to life, help children discover biodiversity.
Naturetown
'Naturetown' is a rhyming adventure, following eco-warriors in a crusade to help their local wildlife - investigating issues of pollution, deforestation and litter. We look at how we can protect and care for our animal friends.
Ben in the Glen
Follow Ben through his home in the glen as he explores the changes and wildlife of the seasons and learn how he records his findings in his nature book. Meet some ZooLab animals linked with the seasons along the way.
Our Senses
Join Henry as he explores how animals use their senses within their habitats. Our story looks at human's five senses to link to how animals perceive and adapt to their surroundings.
All ZooLab workshops can incorporate PECS Animal Flash Cards. This allows each workshop participant to feel safe and secure in knowing what is coming next.

Makaton Animal Signing
If any workshop participant communicates with Makaton, all ZooLab presenters are capable of signing each individual ZooLab animal.
Presenter Style
We all know that too much information can be overwhelming! Our presenters have been trained to communicate in bite size chunks.
Working with you
Our presenters will always consult the teacher present to ensure we are presenting in a fashion that suits your pupils. Sessions can last 30-60 minutes with up to 15 pupils. Alternatively, we can create something bespoke just for you and your pupils.
