We've just launched our first 'Climate Crusaders' challenge! This challenge asks you to create a 'Biome-in-a-box' from recycled and natural materials.
We've called on three expert judges to decide who walks away with £750 towards a sustainability project for your school AND a free half-day of ZooLab workshops! You can read their introductions below...
Professor Adam Hart, FRSB FRES
Adam is a scientist, author and broadcaster who specialises in ecology, entomology and conservation. He is the Professor of Science Communication at University of Gloucestershire and the Vice President & Chair of Outreach Committee of The Royal Entomological Society.
He has co-presented three BBC TV documentaries on social insects and has written and presented numerous BBC Radio 4 and BBC World Service documentaries.

Dr Lynne McTavish
Lynne is the Operations Manager at Mankwe Wildlife Reserve and Earthwatch Scientist. She’s an experienced Level 3 field guide with the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa and was the recipient of the UBS African Scientist Programme fellowship award for training in principal investigator responsibilities, scientific training, and support.
Lynne also received an honorary doctorate of science in 2018 from the University of Brighton. She was awarded this in recognition of her contributions toward wildlife conservation in South Africa.
Her expertise is invaluable and we’re so excited to have her on board for this year’s challenge!
Chris Knowles
Chris is our resident NatureMan! He's a zoologist, explorer, educator and photographer and has over 20 years’ experience educating about tropical forests and their conservation. He has traveled and spent time living in rainforests all over the world searching for the most incredible wildlife and habitats.
Not only do we love having him on the team, but we’re glad to have him as a judge in this
year’s inaugural Climate Crusaders Challenge!
