S1 E2: In Conversation with Lynne MacTavish from Mankwe Wildlife Reserve, South Africa

Updated: Mar 4, 2022

We are delighted to present our new series, ‘In Conversation with...’. Throughout the series, we will interview interesting professionals from a range of different backgrounds across the animal industry. Each has a fascinating story to tell and our series will tell you a bit more about what they do and how they got to where they are today.

This month, Chris sits down with Lynne MacTavish, who runs Mankwe Wildlife Reserve with her family. Lynne has an extraordinary story, and one which will touch the hearts of many. She dedicates her life to wildlife conservation, most notably protecting the white rhino within the reserve from the constant threat of poaching.

It's been a particularly challenging 12 months for Lynne and her team, who already face daily struggles on the reserve. Listening to their story is enough to make anyone want to take action, and in normal times it's possible to head to the reserve for an unforgettable, hands-on volunteering experience. Now more than ever they need our help as South Africa continues to face COVID-19 and the restrictions still in place.
