One of the best things about ZooLab has got to be working with an incredible team! Each month, Ranger Anna will interview a member of the ZooLab family.
This month we will be speaking to Central team leader, Alex Jones!
Hi Alex, how long have you worked for ZooLab?
I have worked for ZooLab for just over 13 years.
What is your role within the company?
I am a ZooLab Ranger based in the Liverpool area and also the team leader for the Central team.

With ZooLab, everyday is different! Can you think of a day which was completely out of the ordinary for you?
I worked an event for Cbeebies one year with the Deadly 60 - that was pretty cool!
What is something you love about working for ZooLab?
I love watching people learn new things and being astonished at all of the amazing animals we have.
Here are just a few of Alex's team mates:
You wake up and get out of bed, now what? What do you do to prepare for the day?
My day usually starts at 6AM when I get up and get myself ready, before dressing my two children and sorting their breakfast.
I make sure all of the animals are okay and pack their travel boxes; wrestle the children to brush their teeth; pack the car with kids and animals and do a headcount to make sure I haven't forgotten anyone.
Before we leave, I make sure everyone is warm enough and that we have everything we need. I then drive the children to their school/nursery and head off to my first visit with my animals for company!
Tell us a little about yourself! What's your favourite food?
I don't have a favourite food as I am a bit of a foodie. I love trying new things and educating myself about different cultures. I do love chocolate though.
You are stranded on a desert island and can only bring 3 things - what are they?
Stanley knife. Fishing rod. Toothbrush. I'd happily live on a desert island.
