Be more like Greta…

Updated: Apr 20, 2023

"The eyes of all future generations are upon you. And if you choose to fail us, I say - we will never forgive you." Teen climate activist, Greta Thunberg, UN Climate Summit, New York, 23 September 2019

You may have noticed that and inspiring young woman called Greta Thunberg has been leading the world in demanding action on climate change. At ZooLab we applaud and support these efforts to make climate change the no.1 priority of senior politicians across the world.

“Scientific evidence for warming of the climate system is unequivocal.”

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

The evidence for rapid climate change is compelling and heart-breaking:

  •  Global temperature rise

  • Warming oceans

  • Shrinking ice sheets

  • Glacial retreat

  • Decreased snow cover

  • Sea level rise

  • Declining Arctic sea ice

  • Extreme events

  • Ocean acidification

We can ALL do our part! ZooLab’s Climate Crusdaers workshops already links to the UK's 'Green Flag' initiative, and global and local environment issues. As a workshop experience that links personal behaviour to global citizenship, this workshop explores what pupils can do to help animals and people all over the world. Dealing with issues of consumption of raw materials, alternatives and recycling – with practical examples from the animal and insect world, Eco Investigators shows how informed personal choices as a consumer can protect animals, habitats and people all over the world.

Like the Eco Schools programme, ZooLab can help make every school in the country sustainable and bring about behaviour change in young people and those connected to them. This will ensure that good habits learned in schools are followed through into homes and communities. With this in mind, ZooLab have crafted an information-rich show which will help your school to deliver on its commitment to the Eco Schools initiative.

This workshop looks at

  • Recycling

  • Biodiversity

  • Energy Saving

  • Renewable Energy Sources

  • Pollution/Climate Change

  • Waste

  • Plastic pollution
